Dr. Anna Wildgrube has joined our healthcare team and brings her extensive experience and knowledge about horses. Dr. Anna is a local gal who grew up in the Faribault horse community. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with her doctorate in veterinary medicine. She then came home to practice on the horses she loves in the Owatonna, Medford, Faribault, and surrounding communities.

Here at Heartland Animal Hospital, we are pleased to focus on the wellness and vaccination of your horse. From all life stages, from foal to senior, we can tailor vaccination series and suggestions based on your horse’s lifestyle and activities. We offer a variety of services, including Equine Dentistry utilizing Power Floating technology, Surgical Services, Senior Wellness Examinations, Nutritional Assessment and Consults, Lameness Examinations and Diagnostics, Foal Care, and Geriatric Care.

In the unfortunate event that your horse is sick or injured, for our clients we offer 24-hour emergency care. Our diagnostic abilities include digital radiographs taken on the farm. Our in-house laboratory includes the most up-to-date equipment available for fast and accurate retrieval of diagnostic test results. Our care team is trained to perform various tests, including blood organ profiles, complete cell counts, fecal egg counts, and other common diagnostic procedures. We also utilize the services of a veterinary reference laboratory for advanced diagnostics and uncommon disease identification.
